The body absorbs fatty foods far more slowly, so you will notice a faster increase in glucose if you opt for a sweet, but fat-free, food.

Diabetes is a medical condition which results from lack of insulin. This chronic condition is also associated with abnormal blood sugar levels in the bloodstream. If there is not enough insulin to change glucose into energy, many symptoms would occur and it would seriously affect the body's vital organs when the time comes. The symptoms of diabetes are harmless and are oftentimes disregarded by many which results to bigger damages especially if it has been left untreated.

Different Stages of Diabetes

Insulin resistance is a pre-diabetic state for most people. This is where more insulin would be required by the cells to convert glucose to energy. Another part of the early diabetes stage would be hyperfiltration. Since the blood sugar level control maintains the normal size of the kidney, abnormalities on blood flow due to diabetes can cause the kidney to grow larger than the usual. This can be followed by microalbuminaria or blood in the urine.

Symptoms will be obvious on the later stage of diabetes. As the disease grows inside a human body, the symptoms and signs can also grow from subtle to extreme. On the final or advanced stages of diabetes, the heart, kidney and liver could be affected badly. It can also cause permanent blindness to the patient. Eventually, these complications on different organs could lead to failure causing death. While on the earlier stage, it is important to undergo different treatments, medications, body maintenance and healthy diet to prevent the disease from escalating fast to its advanced phases.

Knowing the Symptoms of Diabetes

The main thing that is in trouble if you are a diabetic is your blood sugar. Most of the symptoms are also caused by its abnormal levels. The first signs of diabetes are not threatening that most patients are just ignoring it. What they don't know is that this will surely get back to them fast and fatal. Excessive thirst and frequent urination are the first symptoms that can be experienced by diabetics. Since blood sugar could affect the kidney functions, frequent urination can happen. If the body feels that it has lost lots of fluids, this will trigger too much thirst.

Lack of insulin causes weakness or unexplained tiredness. Blurred vision can also be a result of abnormal blood sugar levels that sucks the fluid from the eye lenses. This could lead to permanent blindness in long term. Sudden weight loss, itchy skin and numbness are other symptoms of diabetes. All of which are resulted by high blood sugar levels. In order for your sickness to be attended immediately, take note of these symptoms and be ready to undergo medications and treatments for the best of your health.
