Major Diabetes Symptoms

By Vania Kraft

Each person who experiences symptoms of diabetes may experience different symptoms. Some are diagnosed quickly and easily while others take time to accurately diagnose as diabetes. One person's diabetes symptoms could certainly be less severe making diagnosis more difficult. Although, there are a few symptoms that are quite indicitive of diabetes that you need to be aware of. A few of the major symptoms of diabetes are discussed here. If you or your loved ones experience any of these symptoms I urge you to see a health care provider immediately.

One of the most common signs of diabetes is fatigue. Yes, fatigue is a symptom of any number of problems.

Type 1's chief symptoms and indicators of onset include nausea, vomiting, and dehydration. These typically take place when the body halts the production of insulin or the potassium levels get out of whack. Type 1 diabetes, also known as juvenile onset diabetes, occurs from genetics and heredity and not generally from manageable factors. If your son or daughter is acting a bit out of sorts and you think they may have the stomach flu, requesting that they have some testing for diabetes is a smart idea. A pediatrician will most likely do some initial testing anyway, just to rule against the sickness.

Diabetes is often difficult to diagnose. This is as a result of not everyone being familiar with the main signs of diabetes so they don't know what to watch out for. A good rule of thumb is if you are acting unlike your normal self, it is time to consult your physician.

Don't forget the indicators that are directly related to diabetes are not usually exhibited outwardly. Blood and pancreas tests will be crucial to properly diagnose you. Once you get the right diagnosis, you'll be able to figure out how to feel better and get back to normal.
